Woodland Tales

You play as a small fox in a 2D sidescrolling platformer game. 

You can collect cherries to get points, but avoid the different enemies you meet. The enemies have different movement behavior, but can be killed by jumping on top of them. There are also 3 hidden gems in the level that can be collected but requires some extra skills to obtain. 

The game showcases how I would design a level. The level is designed in such a way, so the diffculty is graduately increased, and the player will have a chance to learn new skills along the way. The cherries act as incitament to tell the player where to go and how.
